File-search result-tree behavior
« on: January 07, 2019, 05:08:17 PM »
When searching all files (Ctrl-Shift-F), the resulting result tree is fully expanded.  The first level of the tree are, of course, the file names.  Previously, clicking on the top line of the tree (the search parameters) collapsed the entire tree.  A second click would expand only the first level: the file names themselves.  Now, the second click expands the entire tree.

Did the basic function change, or was there a config change when I updated to 23.0.0.11 (64-bit)?
Can I restore the original behavior?

Thanks all...

Search Results uses the Selective Display feature to for doing the File/Search Result levels so it is tied to that setting.
There is a setting that does affect that behavior and can be changed under View > Selective Display.  Under "When expanding", there are three options, and the default is "Remember sub-levels".   The behavior you are describing you want would be to "Collapse sub-levels".
