Could you check your local hard drive user app data folder (C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\CrashDumps\) and see if there is a chance Windows Error Reporting archived that (or any recent) dmp file.  I know there is a way to enable Windows Error Reporting to automate dump file archival through the registry, I would have to search docs on how to enable that if not.

That particular exception code occurred deep in the Windows runtimes, is a generic fatal app exception.  Without a stack trace, it will be difficult to know what exactly occurred there.

Sorry, no CrashDumps folder there.
However, I did find a file in the EventViewer. This file might have been accessible via a link when the crash occurred too - not sure.
Here's some more info:

I've tried several times and I can't reproduce this.  Maybe something else will shed some light on it:
  • Are these files that TeraTerm creates and you only read in SlickEdit?
  • If you go to Tools>Options and choose File Options>Load, in the Auto reload section what options are on?  You can just post a picture
  • If you look at the Load entire file section, what is on?
  • Can you send me your user.cfg.xml file?
  • Can you simulate it?  Have two copies of the editor and append reasonable data and force it to crash?  I have tested this here of course, but I'm wondering if there is something special about TeraTerm files, so I don't know what "reasonable data" is

Thanks,

Dan

I've tried to repro by doing  -  ping google.com -t >> temp1.txt and a second one to temp2.txt but no crashes so far.  I'm using Win 10, not Win 7.  As mentioned, post your auto reload settings.

What data rate do you have  - how fast is the file size increasing?

One way to get a dump is with task manager, right click on the process and select "create dump".
