Yeah, I know, there's already a topic for this... but for OSX.
I just wanted to add that we could also use the same thing under Linux.
I websearched for free fonts especially designed for use by programmers
(crisp and clearly-differentiated characters). I found quite a few, though
many were for Windows. None of the X11 fonts were worth much, at least
on my laptop. I run at a high resolution so smallish point sizes end up too
small to read. But the fonts became _really_ ugly when scaled up.
This almost certainly has more to do with X11 than SlickEdit. I don't know
how much work it would be for SE to develop their own X fonts, and they
probably don't have the expertise in-house. But I can wish, eh? Maybe SE
could research the not-free fonts to see if any would work well with SE.
I've been a SlickEdit user since Version 4, on Windows, and it always looks
great there. Very readable.
