parallelize search highlighting
« on: March 11, 2019, 06:24:52 am »
Ever since Slickedit added the new-ish search UI (the small box) with highlighted realtime results I find slickedit fairly frustrating to use. The issue I guess is it's synchronous so as I start to type, the first letter I type matches says 2000 places and that takes time to match and highlight so typing feeling is horrible. If I typed the wrong letters and backspace then I'm stuck in this really slow feeling.

Yes I know I can turn that feature off but I'm used to in other editors that somehow manage to parallelize the feature otherwise make it not effect keyboard input speed so hoping slickedit can do the same at some point.
