Recent frequent crashing with V21
« on: April 16, 2019, 01:52:11 PM »
Over the last couple of weeks, my Slickedit has been crashing.  It does not appear to be related to any particular user action, as I've seen it crash multiple times while working in other windows/programs.
It has been occurring several times a day.

Here is related info:
SlickEdit Pro 2016 (v21.0.1.0 32-bit)

Unhandled exception at 0x0b792179 in vs.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000161.

0B792174  mov         eax,0BD0AF20h
0B792179  cmp         byte ptr [eax+160h],0

EAX   00000001
EDI   00BC7CA4
CH   AE
AL   01

I have uninstalled and reinstalled with the same result (keeping my profile files).
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Dennis

Given the circumstances and lack of details, considering that this just started happening recently, I'm going to conjecture that you have a corrupted tag file.  Close the editor and delete your workspace tag file (it will be regenerated automatically).  It would also be good idea to rebuild your compiler tag files.  Tools > Tag Files... > Auto Tag...
