SE v23.0.1 freezes when trying to load a hot fix

This problem started with version v23.0.1. I haven't been able to apply any of the hot fixes. SE window just freezes and becomes blank. It can only be closed with kill -9.
Any advise what to do?

Also, this started with the first hot fix. I've been silently hoping that one of the hot fixes will make it go away, but now 4th is available and the problem is still there.

Similar issue here with the Win_x64 edition and the new hotfix_se2301_4_cumulative.zip download.

There was a bug with the hotfix version matching, where it could lock up.  If you download the latest installer, and install it, it should be able to apply the hotfixes.  (And once you've done that, the version will show up as 23.0.1.2 in the Help About page).
