Is there anyway to show, on the Toolbar, what the "Active Configuration" is currently set for the project? I would like to be able to see the Active Configuration without having to navigate to a menu or other screen?

There is an active configuration tool to the toolbar.  Under View > Toolbars > Customize..., under the Project category there is both an active project and active configuration tool, select the drop-down and you can drag it to add to any toolbar you have active.
