v24 Mouse wheel scroll by page
« on: October 02, 2019, 03:25:04 PM »
I have a Logitech mouse with the settings configured to scroll a page (screen) at a time with the mouse wheel. I'm running Windows 10.

With v24, SlickEdit is scrolling just 3 lines at a time in the editor window. With v23 it did scroll a full page (it scrolled the same amount as pressing Page Up or Down keys). It also scrolls just 3 lines at a time within list dialogs (e.g. list-buffers Files window), while v23 scrolls a page at a time.

Another change with v24 is that the Help windows also now scroll about 3 lines at a time when I use my mouse wheel, while on v23, the scrolling with the mouse wheel in Help windows just scrolled to the bottom or top of the help. (I think I did report that here in the forum sometime in the past.)

How can I get v24 to scroll a complete page at a time when using the mouse wheel in the editor window?

Reproduced.  Looks like this is a Qt5 difference.  I can fix this for the editor, but would rather not get into it for the help windows (That's Qt's assistant / QtWebKit code).

The help scrolling has been broken for me since v20 (https://community.slickedit.com/index.php/topic,11577.msg48963.html) -- the current scrolling in the help is better now than it was if I do accidentally try to scroll in the help. So fixing just for the editor is good enough.

Thanks.

Download 24.0.0.8. Full page wheel scroll will now work in the editor for 64-bit Windows in v24.0.0.8
