Find and Replace window doesn't move
« on: November 25, 2019, 04:18:41 PM »
If I bring up the Find and Replace window, I can't move it.  Grabbing the title bar does nothing.  Is there a way to get it to move so I can see what's underneath?

This sounds like a multi-monitor problem.

Post your Help>About information.

I have a similar issue.  Cannot move or resize dialog boxes in SlickEdit 24 as I can in SlickEdit 23.  Laptop with external monitor.  SlickEdit running on the external monitor.  Same behavior with or without the hotfix, and with command
"vs +new -sc c:\tmp\vstest".

No luck reproducing this so far.

How do you have the monitors arranged?  vertically? horizontally?

Does dragging work on any of the monitors?

I'm sure there's a magic trick to this. I wouldn't think it would be the video driver but could be some monitor utility.

In two monitor mode, my external monitor is front and center while the laptop is down and to the right (corner to corner).

The problem also occurs when running only on the laptop (HP Probook 455 G5 with AMD Radeon G5 Graphics driver 26.20.11024.4001).

Also occurs on an Intel-based desktop with Intel graphics, and an Intel-based laptop with NVidia graphics.

My screens are as follows:
3 2
 1
where 1 is the laptop screen.

It appears that only modeless dialog boxes are affected.  Modal boxes, such as Project Properties, are fine.  Modeless boxes can't be moved or sized.

If I run SE on #1 or #2, the modeless boxes always appear on #3.  If I undock, the boxes appear on the laptop screen but are still unmovable and unsizable.

I have additional information that may help the SlickEdit developers reproduce and fix this issue.  If I reconfigure my mouse to the default button configuration, dialog boxes work correctly in 24.0.x.  If I swap the primary and secondary buttons in my mouse configuration for the left-handed person I am, the non-modal dialog boxes can no longer be moved or resized.

Reproduced. Thanks. No way we would have ever figured that out without help. We will look into this.
