SlickEdit V20
I want to change the bookmark icon as I find the default one difficult to see. In previous versions I would use the following code in vusrmacs.e, but it doesn't seem to work in V20.

definit()
{
/*********************************************************************
 *       Bookmark Icon - we only need to load the icon once:         *
 *       Copy the new _edbookmark.bmp to C:\vslick\bitmaps,          *
 *       load module, then re-comment the line and load module again *
 *******************************************************************/

     _update_picture(-1,'_edbookmark.bmp');
}

That doesn't works any more. This image code requires .svg files for scalability (handling of drastically different monitor resolutions). Also, it doesn't look like you can replace the _ed_bookmark.svg icon easily.

Are you looking for a taller image or a different image?  If you increase the height of your font, the bookmark icon will get taller and wider. If you could load a taller image but use a shorter font, you would end up with vertical padding.

My recommendation would be to tune the color you are using for the editor control line prefix area (Tools > Options > Appearance > Colors > Margins > Line Prefix Area).

I like 0x404040, but that is with a black background, your mileage may vary.

If you want to replace the SVG, it's name has changed.  What you want to look for is _ed_bookmark.svg.  SVG is XML, so you can easily adjust the colors used in the one that is distributed with the editor.

Solved.
Convert the _edbookmark.bmp to an ico file. The steps are then the same, just update the file name being called _update_picture(-1,'_edbookmark.ico');
