I've just had the experience of having three different versions of SE access the same project files and maintain different views of which buffers are open and showing in which edit window. Regardless of what the other two versions do, a specific version always shows the correct (to it) buffer layout, even if another version changes their view.
How does this occur? A compare of the .vpwhist file (copies taken after each SE version has been run) suggests the line "MONITOR_CONFIGS:" might be something to do with it. Is that correct?
I ask because I always assumed the vpwhist file held this info, and saving/restoring via source control would replicate my editing view. If that's wrong, I need to rethink things...
