pylint: no column information
« on: August 06, 2020, 06:49:31 pm »
For live errors, slick apparently doesn't get column number information from Pylint.
By default pylint prints a line of code, then another line with a caret (^) showing the column.
But you can get it to print the column number directly: https://docs.pylint.org/en/1.6.0/output.html

It does look like the message template parameter could allow us to format the message with the column.  And in a format where we don't need the extra error message regular expressions in the error parsing setup just for pylint.

I'll look at changing the pylint profiles for the next beta so it's the default, and users don't have to change the profiles to get the column.

Changed the profiles and error config so it picks up the column numbers for the next beta.
