Symbol highlight macros
« on: August 13, 2020, 03:56:43 pm »
There is a problem that prevents me from using the beta version.
See SymHighlightV2 in the link below, this is a set of macros that enable me to color highlight specific words in my code.
The installation instructions are in instructions to colors.txt under With the new version you need to…
I follow these instruction each time I use a new installation of SlickEdit.
The beta version gets stuck when I hit F5 which is binded to symtag-toggle-sym-highlight

JP can verify this, but I'm not 100% sure that is the latest version, isn't the one on github the most up-to-date?

Beta1 or Beta2?

It had this problem in Beta1, Beta2 should fix it but I've not tested yet.

In any case, there is a fix in the latest highlights: https://github.com/jporkka/slickMacros.git
The fix is in Symcolors.e, you can download just that file

I am sorry but I failed to load the fixed version.
I would appreciate detailed step by step instructions.
Thanks

You should just replace your existing SymColors.e - whereever you unpacked the ZIP archive.

Then in Slickedit run
    symtagunload
followed by
    symtagload

When I get a chance, i'll upload a complete new ZIP archive.
