My "Find All" button has disappeared.
« on: July 04, 2007, 11:07:40 AM »
Hi, I'm using v11.0.2 under windows.
My "Find and Replace" dialog box, "Find" tab, doesn't have a "Find All" button (as shown in the help), mine only has a "Find" button.

The problem I'm having is that I want to search for a string in the current buffer, but I don't want it to jump to the first occurrence of that string when I click Find.  I used to be able to do it on a previous installation I had, but not anymore.  I think I may have been using "Find All" before, but it has disappeared!

This can be done by checking 'List all occurences'.

PS: And yes - the docs sometimes lag behind the features. But that's better than the other way round, right ?

Thanks so much for the help HS2, but...

I have "List all occurrences" checked already, and when I click "Find" it always jumps cursor to the first one it finds.  This is really really really really annoying.  I hope there is a way to stop it from doing that.

I was sure I was using the same version on my other system which did what I want (left the cursor alone and just listed matches in the search results pane), but it may have been v9, now I'm not entirely sure.

But one thing is for sure, I cannot use it like it is now.

Cheers.

Thank you so so much HS2, it works!!!!!!

Yes, I am happy again, though I do feel like a bit of an idiot not knowing about the hotfixes.  In my defence, I've only recently started using v11, having used V6 daily for the past 7 years.

Thanks again.
