In general I find the Filter Editor to not be useful.
My list has 414 entries, apparently random order.
#1 Sort this list! Even in a clean configuration, the list is in some random order.
#2 Include the pattern next to the name (better: make this a list with two or more columns, and make it sortable by clicking column headers.
#3 Make it searchable
#4 Do not automatically add unnamed patterns from the "File types" field to this list.
#5 In the File types drop-down, keep my hand typed entries separate from the Filter Editor filters.
#6 Keep a *limited* (10? 20?) number of recently used patterns on top (mix of hand-typed patterns and FileTypes entries).
