Help menu is empty
« on: May 03, 2021, 10:37:52 PM »
On a brand new install of SlickEdit 2020 (yesterday) there is no help.  If I press F1 or do Help->Contents, I get a big blank help system.  Since the install grabbed some config from my copy of SlickEdit2008, any chance that might have boogered something up?  Or the fact that it's a shared license rather than named?

Try this.

--Exit SlickEdit.

--Rename this folder:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\assistant\
to
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\assistant.OLD\

and rename this one as well:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\SlickEdit**.*.*.

--Restart SlickEdit.

That worked, thx.
BTW, there was no "assistant" directory. And there still isn't after I restarted.  I'm curious.  Our company changed our local login user to a managed network login.  I don't really understand it.  My userid was once a shortname.  Then FirstLast after a reinstall.  Now?? %USERNAME% is now a numeric value.  Yet it seems c:\users\FirstLast is still used for app data.  Could that confuse the installer?
