How do I hide the status bar?
« on: July 26, 2006, 11:06:23 PM »
By status bar i mean the status line, the bottommost line which has the line/col, RO/RW etc indicators.
I wish to do this, because i like my programming environment to be as clean as possible, and i use shortcut keys
for handling the extra functionality. So far i've cleaned everything up, and this is the only thing that remains.
Thanks.

Unfortunately, there is no way to get rid of the status bar.

Also, it happens to be our Command Line - so it serves other purposes than only displaying status messages.
(Press Escape in most emulations and you have an entry point for SlickEdit commands.)

yep, for the moment you will be correct. However, I could imagine a status bar disappearing like the taskbar in windows, reappearing for <n> configurable seconds whenever a new status message is written (or configurable not even then), and appearing permanently only when I press escape to really use the 'command prompt' feature.
If you will, consider this a feature request ;-)

Thanks,
