"Automatically close visited files "will not work

I use ctrl+. goto a symbol define file, use ctrl+, back, but symbol define file don't close.

There are two situations where that is most likely to happen. 
1) If you jump to a file, then modify it, the auto-close will be overridden.
2) If you jump to a file that was already open, it will not auto-close.
