Viewing text files with ANSI color escape codes?
« on: May 30, 2022, 12:12:32 pm »
Hi there!
I recently discovered that the objdump utility can generate a listing with ANSI color escape codes using the --visualize-jumps=color switch.

Is it possible to tell SlickEdit to display a text file in color by parsing the ANSI escape codes?

Thanks in advance,
Pieter

Try running the command in the Build tool window. Right now, only the build tool window processes color escapes sequences.

If you have a file with color sequences, just "cat" the file in the Build tool window terminal.

Thanks! It worked a treat :) I then right-clicked in the Build window and selected "Send Output to Editor Window". Now I have a two-step process to achieve what I want.

Best regards,
