BackupHistoryBrowser and Rename
« on: September 14, 2022, 08:15:42 pm »
When I rename a file (context menu on the file tab->Rename)
The vsdelta information is copied as expected.

However, the newly renamed file does not appear in the Backup History Browser.
At least not until I make changes to the newly renamed file and save them.
Even then though, only that single save event appears.

It would be handy if the backup history included a rename event as well.

We have discussed this, but haven't broken from the simpler method yet.  One consideration is that we save 400 versions (by default) before the oldest versions start to "fall off".  This means you would lose the older history.

I have an idea, I'll have to talk to Clark about it, but I can't do it for v27.

I'm not sure how that follows?

When I rename a file, a new *.vsdelta file is created but savelog.xml file is not updated to reflect this.
I have to RebuildSaveLog to get it added.
