How to widen scrollbars in version 27?
« on: September 18, 2022, 01:20:13 pm »
The vertical and horizontal scrollbars are much narrower in v27 beta2 vs v26.

I have attached a screenshot pointing out what I'm talking about, contrasting scrollbar width in v27/beta2 vs v26 to illustrate what I mean.

Is there any way to make the scrollbars wider in v27? The narrower scrollbar is more difficult for me to focus on.

I see there is some extra information added to the other half of the scrollbar as new feature in v27? Is that where each symbol corresponding to where the cursor is is found? Not sure what it is, but I'm not sure I'd like to give up that screen real estate for that, would probably rather have more scrollbar (meaning the 2 arrows and being able to drag the scrollbar marker) there.

OK, I found it under Appearance->Scrolling there is "Scroll bar size", I can set it to Extra Large, and I can turn off the "Document overview bar".

You can also find it by right-clicking in the Document overview bar (when active) and selecting a preferred width from the context menu.

Is there a way to change the scrollbar width from a Slick-C macro file?

Also is there a way to hide the document overview bar from a Slick-C macro file?

The scroll_markup_toggle() command does it all.

Code: [Select]
_menu _scroll_markup_menu {
   "&Enable Document Overview Bar", "scroll_markup_toggle enabled",     "", "", "Show document overview markup bar to right of editor window";
   "Show Tooltip",            "scroll_markup_toggle tooltip",     "", "", "Show tooltip to zoom in on marked text when hovering over document overview bar";
   submenu "Scroll Bar Width","","","" {
      "Tiny",              "scroll_markup_toggle width tiny",     "", "", "";
      "Extra Small",       "scroll_markup_toggle width smaller",  "", "", "";
      "Small",             "scroll_markup_toggle width small",    "", "", "";
      "Medium",            "scroll_markup_toggle width medium",   "", "", "";
      "Large",             "scroll_markup_toggle width large",    "", "", "";
      "Extra Large",       "scroll_markup_toggle width larger",   "", "", "";
      "Huge",              "scroll_markup_toggle width huge",     "", "", "";
      "System Style",      "scroll_markup_toggle width platform", "", "", "";
   }
