LiveDiff: Breaking after 10 seconds
« on: October 31, 2022, 08:40:59 PM »
Occasionally I notice there is a SAY log window open in the background with this text:
se.vc.SVCLiveDiffManager.se.vc.SVCLiveDiffManager.run(611): breaking after 10 seconds

If it wasn't hung for >= 10 seconds before this, it's a safety check for an overly aggressive check for an infinite loop.

So, why is it hung?
And it should not SAY.

On a large repo, git can easily take longer than 10 seconds for some commands (especially fetch, pull, push)

It only does the diff for Live Diff, so it should finish in 10 seconds for sure.  It shouldn't give an error in this case, but it would break out if you activated the editor.

It would also be good if the message included the file that is causing the problem

That's a good idea.
