SlickEdit 2022 (27.0.0.6) macOS drag files to open not working (slow)

On some of my Macs, dragging a file to SlickEdit window to open seems quite slow (up to 5 seconds) to get the "+" sign, acknowledging that the drag-n-drop operation is recognized). If the "+" does not show, dropping the file fails to open. Quite annoying to wait 5 seconds holding the mouse button to get it to open (albeit faster than using the open dialog).

This is on an ARM Macbook Pro (M1 MAX) with plenty of memory (32GB), running macOS 13 (Ventura), with nothing else running. Same thing happens on a Macbook Air M2.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I will look into this.  I suspect it is a problem with our support for Ventura.  We've identified a couple other issues with Ventura that we are working on.

Indeed I don't see the problem on a system running Monterey. Only of those running Ventura.

I am running Ventura on i7 6-core w/32GB RAM, and I never get the + when dragging files to open.
I must drag the file to the SlickEdit icon in the dock to get it to open.
