Author Topic: Downloading from SlickEdit registered products is VERY slow or not working?  (Read 922 times)

Is it just me or is there anyone else experiencing issues downloading SlickEdit from:
My Account->Registered Products->Product Download

When I try selecting one of the platforms to download, the download shows >2 hours to download and eventually fails to download? I heard there were some DNS issues with SlickEdit, but it seems to be an issue.

Download speeds look okay on our end.
Is it still slow for you?
Not sure what DNS issues you are referring to.

Things to check:
Are you on a slow VPN connection?
Try a speed test site (speedtest.net, fast.com).
If you're at home, is there a family member hogging bandwidth?
Try clearing your browser cache.
Try a different browser.
Try a different internet connection if available (e.g. smartphone hotspot, etc.).

Sorry for the late response...
I have tried the following:
1) Restart computer
2) Clear all browsing cache and data
3) Tried different browser
4) Verified with speed tests that I have no issues with download speeds (150+ MB/sec)
5) Verified no issues downloading files from other websites, example Ubuntu iso image and others
6) Try downloading with Virus protection turned off (Kaspersy)

For some reason, it looks like I only get extremely slow downloads from Slickedit. Again, I am downloading from the My Registered products page:

The download link from the page is:

It says it is only a 240Mb size file, but the download speed is so slow I am showing 2+ hours left to download.

Although, originally, I received a different download link from someone at Slickedit that worked just fine. Again, it seems to be the My Registered Products site?

More info from the past:
On Oct 26, 2022 when I was first having the slow download issues, I received the following from Shannon at Slickedit:

There were some DNS issues earlier in the day but they should be all sorted now.

Try this link:

I just tested it on a machine with no tries to our network and it was speedy.

Then Shannon gave me the following link to get the Linux version:

Those downloaded just fine.

I have been trying to get the newer v27.0.1.0 (windows 64-bit, linux 64-bit), and am having the slow download issues.

The link from your registered products is being served from an AWS host (us-east), and the link from Support is being served from a different network. That's just an observation, not an explanation.
