27.0.1 Highlight matching symbols and symbol coloring issues
« on: December 16, 2022, 07:13:43 pm »
In 27.0.1 the "Highlight matching symbols under cursor" feature doesn't un-highlight symbols that were previously highlighted.  See attached screenshot.  This works as expected in in 27.0.0.  This has been observed in document modes C/C++ and Ansi-C.

Also, some symbol coloring has changed to bold.  See attached screenshots comparing 27.0.0 to 27.0.1.

This is on Windows 10, SlickEdit Pro 2022 (v27.0.1.0 64-bit Qt5),

The issue with "Highlight symbols under cursor" will be fixed in the first hot fix for 27.0.1.  https://community.slickedit.com/index.php/topic,19096.0.html

There were no changes to the Symbol Highlighting profiles for 27.0.1.  Are you certain you do not just have a different setting in 27.0.1 for this:  Document > C/C++ Options... > Preview and Highlighting > Symbol Coloring > Use bold for symbol names in d...

Thanks, Dennis.

I just fired up 27.0.1 to check that setting and it isn't turned on.  The symbols aren't bold today either.  Strange!  Oh well.  Problem solved, I guess.

Looking forward to the hotfix.

27.0.1.0

With Use bold for symbol names set or unset, I still get cumulative highlighting.

( also, when I have Use bold for symbol names set, the highlighted symbols are not bold. )

The bold option only applies to symbol declarations and definitions, not where they are referenced.

As I noted before, that will be fixed in the first cumulative hot fix for 27.0.1.
