What is jaws_setup.exe and why does it keep trying to run

On my Windows 11 work computer I've been getting a message every day since I updated that a risky action has been blocked. The item listed is:

C:\Program Files\SlickEdit Pro 27.0.2\win\jaws_setup.exe

What is this and how to I stop this issue? It started with v27.0.2.0.

It's a screen reader for visually impaired people.  I'm not sure what could be causing it to run.

It should only run on machines that have JAWS setup already.  It looks for a registry key first.

SlickEdit should prompt you before installing it.  Were you prompted when you first installed SlickEdit 27.0.2?

FWIW, if you did not know, JAWS is screen reader software for the visually impaired.  Are you saying your virus checking software is flagging the setup program?

I don't recall a prompt during setup. Windows 11 security is flagging the setup which I guess tries to run several times a day. I just deleted it since I don't need it.

We are happy to hear you resolved this.

Is your Windows 11 install new?  I'm just curious why you were getting this and nobody else has reported it yet.

It was an upgrade install. The version on Windows 11 was 22621.1635.

I'll see if it happens with the next update. My other computer didn't have this issue but it also isn't running whatever corporate settings we have.
