Linux - copy-as-html
« on: January 05, 2024, 10:01:53 PM »
copy_as_html does not work on Linux (Ubuntu 20.04 / Qt5), but is not disabled nor is the HTML clipboard option on Tools > Editing > Selections -- the docs do say the option is Windows-only.

It would be useful to have a copy_as_html_text command that created a text clipboard with the selected text formatted as HTML.  This would be nice for pasting example code into documentation, for example.

I tested copy_as_html and it works with the Qt4 and Qt5 versions of SlickEdit on Linux. I had to use Thunderbird to test that it worked (pasted HTML into email and saw colors). This works on macOS too. I'll update the docs on this.

A copy_as_html_text command would definitely be a nice edition for example code.
