Minimap font size
« on: May 03, 2024, 06:58:51 PM »
In 28.0.2, the minimap font size seems to keep resetting itself to the same size as the editor window font.  See screenshot attached.

I can fix it (temporarily) by right clicking in the minimap and selecting Unzoom and then Set Default Minimap Font Size.  It appears to happen each time I start SE, but I'm not sure that is the only time it happens (I rarely close SE).

Try setting the font for "Unicode Minimap Windows" (Tools>Options>Appearance>Fonts). Set to something other than a built-in font like Default Unicode Font which isn't a real font (SlickEdit attempts to map this to something usable).

Thanks, Clark.

I'll try that on Monday.

It turns out that the minimap font is already set to a non-default font.  See attached screenshot.

Try exiting SlickEdit and removing vrestore.slk and vrestore.xml. This will reset your tool windows and other auto restore data.

Removing the vrestore files (by renaming them) didn't work.

Maybe you can provide steps from a clean config on how to reproduce this.

vs - sc /tmp/config

Sorry for letting this lie for so long.  I tried your suggestion (actually now using V29, which still shows the same issue when using my normal config folder).

Interestingly with the clean config, it seems to show the opposite problem.  The minimap font is extremely tiny.

Let me know if you have any other suggestions or I can provide any further information.

We will need steps on how to reproduce this.
