Changes At Slickedit
(1/1)
tinker123:
I noticed that Slickedit is no longer offering a version of Slickedit as a plugin for Eclipse.
It seems like the price on Slickedit is lower too, but I don't know if that is my imagination or not as I haven't looked at the prices in years. I seem to remember a personal copy running about $500 and now it is about $300 with a stripped down version for only $125.
The version I have is several decades old due to their pricing schemes of the past.
They used to give discounts for corporations buying many copies, but not for individuals - who like me, often tried to sell their companies on it.
I wonder if my memory about the price is from pricing an upgrade to both my linux ( home ) and windows ( work ) copies. It looks like now I would not have to that. Once license for multiple versions. I may have that wrong. Even so, I can probably get by nicely with the "basic" version for a mere $125 a piece.
Things change.

The price of SlickEdit Pro was reduced. For the same price, it is now only sold as a multi-platform license for the single platform price. This greatly reduces the price if you need multiple platforms. For example, if you own a named user license for v28, you can upgrade for $60 to v29. Upgrading from older versions is much more expensive. Email sales@slickedit.com and attach your most recent license file for upgrade pricing. If you have a current installation of SlickEdit, the location of your license file is displayed in Help>About SlickEdit...
The SlickEdit Eclipse core plugin was dropped and is no longer sold. For convenience, it can still be downloaded from the SlickEdit website.
