Was working ok previously...

Was using SE v28, and I recently upgraded to v29.

And after that I also upgraded Win 10 to Win 11.

So I don't know which caused the breakage.

Appears to be due to Win 11 and/or SE v29.

The Windows 11 ssh doesn't work with SlickEdit's SFTP.

If you have git installed, the ssh that comes with it will work.

Or you can download ssh.zip from here:

https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ew5lg2r7dlpooqwivqqo6/ssh.zip?rlkey=xjgv6cgqgwnyh1lcakhy8sge6&st=nj5hdwr7&dl=0

Configure the ssh SlickEdit uses here: Tools>Options>Network & Internet Options>FTP Default Options>SSH/SFTP>SSH Executable

Clark,

I set the Git ssh executable in SE Options as you said above (see first image), and I still get the timeout (see second image).

Previously (SE v28 and Win 10), it would ask me the "Yes/No SSH new key" question and then it would prompt me for the 2FA 6-digit key and the it would connect.

Also:
I tried this using the SE Terminal window using both the Win 11 ssh and the Git ssh, and in each case there appears no response until I punch in the 2FA 6-digit key and then in both cases the terminal window connects.

I also tried using backslashes in the ssh executable pathname, and still get timeout.

When I try either of the Win 11 ssh and the Git ssh in a Windows Shell I am able to connect.

See attached for Win 11 ssh.

( my mistake was to upgrade both SE and Win together... I should have done each separately )

More info (what I know so far):

Code: [Select]
C:/Windows/System32/OpenSSH/ssh.exe
C:/"Program Files"/Git/usr/bin/ssh.exe

both of those work correctly from the Win 11 Command Prompt and Terminal shells.

They also work correctly from the SE Terminal shell as follows:
you don't see the Yes/No prompt,
you don't see the prompt to enter the 2FA (Google Authenticator) code,
so if you hit ENTER once/twice and enter the 2FA code then ssh connects.

see transcripts of each from SE Terminal:

Code: [Select]
C:\Users\Joe>C:/Windows/System32/OpenSSH/ssh.exe paz
         <------ hit ENTER here
429337   <------ enter 2FA code
Connection to paz 22 port [tcp/ssh] succeeded!
