A couple problems with the macOS version
« on: March 27, 2025, 03:45:47 PM »
  • When doing a search and replace with gui-replace, I place the cursor a few lines above the first instance and then fill out the fields in the dialog box.  SE finds the first instance and highlights it.  I then click R* to replace all instances but the first instance remains unchanged
  • I have SE configured with windows side-by-side so that I can view multiple files at the same time.  If I want to move a file from one window to another, I grab its tab and drag to the new window.  The tab won't go into the other windows tab bar immediately.  The window will flash gray briefly but won't stay gray to allow me to drop the tab into the tab bar.  Instead, I have to drop the tab, wait for the tab to create a new child window, and then grab the tab to move it back to the window I want in the main SE window, and then the tab will drop into place.  Strangely enough, I can grab the tab and move it back to the window it was just in with no problem.
  • The above happens when I want to create a new window by moving it to the new window marker (looks like a +) in the window I want to split.  Lots of flashing but I can't get it to create the window until I drop it to create a child window, and then grab the tab again and move it to the new window marker and drop it.

1. I can't reproduce this. Please post your user.cfg.xml and provide key presses so we can make sure we are doing exactly what you are doing.

2,3: This could be a multi-monitor issue. There have been some multi-monitor issues we haven't been able to reproduce here so we can fix them. I'm able to drag tabs in and out of the main window (M1 mac mini running 15.3).

I don't see any place to post user.cfg.xml.  When I click on "Attachments and other options", all I see are three check boxes: Notify me of replies, Don't use smileys, and Return to this topic.  I'm using Firefox.

You can't upload an attachment unless you're logged into the forum. Although, seems like you were probably logged in.

If logging in doesn't fix it, email support and attach your user.cfg.xml.
