Quick Search and Quick Replace
« on: August 30, 2007, 01:51:58 PM »
Quickly find all instances of the word or selection at the cursor with Quick Search: Right-click and select Quick Search or use the quick_search command. Use the commands find_next (Ctrl+G in CUA emulation) and find_prev (Ctrl+Shift+G) to find the next and previous occurrences. If you like Quick Search, bind the quick_search command to a key or key sequence (Tools > Options > Key Bindings).

A Quick Replace feature is also available. Type “quick search” or “quick replace” in the Help Index to learn more.

'quick replace' is quite smart (as I've recognized last time). If the current word to quick-replace is found in it's internal history, the last used replacement for this word is set as the first history item (reached by cursor-up).
That's really nice, speeds up work and helps to avoid typos and such !
