Problem with "(Not Responding)" when editing C/C++ files
« on: February 19, 2008, 02:58:48 pm »
I am using SlickEdit 12.0.3.0, and when I edit a text file, the cursor follows the mouse normally.  However, when I open a C/C++ file, very quickly SlickEdit becomes unresponsive for 10s of seconds at a time, there is a great amount of disk IO, and the window displays "(Not Responding)" after the "SlickEdit" in the window's title bar.

I have turned off background tagging, but still there is something going on that SlickEdit thinks is more important than moving the cursor to follow the mouse.

What should I do?

Thanks.

You need to contact Product Support. This is a complex issue to debug that requires a lot of information.
