Script Files/Files Without an Extension
« on: March 06, 2008, 03:34:59 PM »
Sometimes you may need to work with script files or files that don't have file extensions. Without a file extension, SlickEdit defaults to editing in Fundamental language editing mode. This is fine, but you don't get the benefits of color coding and code navigation. You can change the mode to something more useful by using the select_mode command (Document > Select Mode). This displays a dialog with all the available language editing modes. You can also use the select_mode with the name of the mode to switch modes instantly. For example, open the command line and type select_mode HTML to quickly enable HTML color coding and navigation features.
