I'm running Slickedit 11 on Linux.  After applying the latest hotfixes, the filenames in the File Tabs toolbar are no longer shown in red if the files have been modified.  How can I fix this?

Did you definitely get the V11 hotfixes and not V12?  If you don't need any of the hotfixes, you can uninstall them  - see the help for that.

You could also have two configuration folders - one with hotfixes installed and one without.

Macro > Set Variable...

Set _use_timers back to 1.

My guess is that you had gotten a Slick-C stack in a timer function at some point at or around the time you applied the hot fixes.  The Slick-C stack should be recorded in your log file (<config dir>/vs.log).

That fixed it, thanks.
