I try to show in editor vertical line on 80th column for easy aligning width of text. I've found two ways for it, but both don't work for me:

1. Tools->Options->General...->Vertical line column. I've set this parameter to 80 and chosen "Vertical line color", but never happened: vertical line didn't showed.

2. Tools->File extension setup->*.py->Word Wrap->Margins. I've set "Right" to 80 and chosen "Indicator color". Also, I've set "Word wrap" option. And nothing happened again: I don't see any vertical lines on column 80, but wrapping works.

Can anybody help me? P.S. Sorry for my English.

P.P.S. Forget to mention that I use SlickEdit 12.0.3.

You must set the SBCS/DBCS font to a monospaced font. Then the vertical line will appear.

Vertical line isn't supported for proportional fonts.  Also, if you are editing a unicode file (like an XML file).  Choosing a fixed font doesn't help unless you turn on "Use fixed spacing for bold and italic fixed Unicode fonts" in the Colors options.   With unicode font rendering, additional proportional fonts may get used to display characters not in the fixed font chosen.
