Feature request: MDI window enlarge
« on: April 03, 2008, 11:15:00 pm »
I spend a lot of time resizing windows in SE.  I couldn't figure out how to automate the process with macros, is it even possible?  I would love something similar to 'tile horizontal' which resizes all windows to a specified width (just past 80 chars for me) and enlarges height to max size.  Barring that I'd love the ability to control window sizes with Slick-C.

You can set the default window size from the Window -> New Window Size dialog, in V12, anyway.  I size one window just the way I want it, then open that dialog, and tell it to use the current window.  It's in pixels, rather than chars, but with a fixed font, it works fine.

I have a macro which I like a lot...I always configure "One buffer per window" to off - allowing lots of buffers and few windows.
My macro then lets me at the touch of a key select 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 tiled windows. (for 2 I can stack them or make the side-by-side.
