Add TTCN-3 language support for Slickedit
« on: December 17, 2012, 10:10:02 AM »
Hi all,

It seems that Slickedit cannot support TTCN-3 (a standard language for testing).
How can I add this new language support? It is rather complicated. Thanks.

BTW, Source insight natively supports it.

We have gotten this recently as a feature request. It's on our radar, but most likely will not be included in the upcoming 2013 release. We could add pretty basic "color coding only" support in relative short order, but correct support will require a fairly sophisticated parser, branched off the existing C/C++ or Java parsers.

Oh, you just had to push that button, didn't you!  ;)

Just a quick update. We will have TTCN-3 support in the SlickEdit 2013 release. The basic level is already done, and now it's just a matter of how full-featured we make the parser.

If you take a look at http://www.slickedit.com/products/slickedit/features-by-language , that will show the varying levels of support for different languages. My prediction is that you'll see TTCN-3 support somewhere in the spectrum close to the level of support we have now for Lua and PL/I.
