Color schemes
« on: August 27, 2006, 08:59:44 AM »
I think it's a good idea to start a thread where color schemes can be shared.
I'm sure there a lot of well-designed schemes out there...

Append it to your VSLICKCONFIG/uscheme.ini file, (re-)start Slick and select it - it will certainly hurt your eyes ;)
(contains 'HS2 Dark Blue (+embedded)' scheme)

Well, we seem to have devolved into a bit of a fonts discussion, so I'll throw out the one that is the best free font I have found for programming.  Dotted zeroes, clear distinction between 1, l, and I, etc.

It is the DejaVu Fonts.

They were developed based off of the Bitstream Vera fonts, and have added a ton of international characters (still lots to go).

Anyhow, check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Would it be inappropriate to post colorschemes ported to SlickEdit from other apps?

I have a few schemes that I borrowed from VIM that I like to use.

Sorry for the delay.

Here are a few color schemes I like to use. Some were adapted from VIM and a few other editors I have run across.

The first one is a dark theme based on VIM's Zenburn.

Another dark one called Wombat. (I think this came from a VIM theme also.)

Here is a somewhat blue theme. Goes well with XP's default.

I've tried the color schemes in this thread. I've appended them to my vsscheme.ini (I have version 12.0.3 and I've noticed that HS2 wrote uscheme.ini) and when I try some of them I get the error msg "Invalid color. Unable to update sample".
What could be the reason for that? Is this some incompatibility between old/new versions?

thanks.

My color schemes: Water Color, IceAge, Borland Classic. My favorite is "Water Color".
