Perl Project Properties
« on: August 31, 2006, 07:10:00 pm »
I'm new to SlickEdit and trying to use it for Perl coding. By default, SlickEdit doesn't seem to be setup to run/debug Perl code. I'm wondering if there is any documentation for setting up the project properties on .pl files. I'm using ActivePerl and would like to be able to run my scripts and have the output of those scripts appear in the output window. I've searched the forums but haven't had any luck finding any setup instructions.

You can run any command line operation and capture the output to the Build window by selecting Project > Project Properties, select the Tools tab, and then click the New button. You will be prompted for the name of the tool, which will be displayed under the Build entry in the main menu. Once added, enter the command line to run, put a check in "Capture output" and "Output to build window". You may also need to specify the directory to run from.
