How to add an extension?
« on: July 05, 2008, 08:49:43 PM »
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I want to add .XUL (Firefox UI language) as an XML language so I go to Tools->Options, I pick "File Extension Manager". I click "New.." type in "xul" for Extension and pick "XML" as the language. I click "ok".

Shouldn't that be it? I notice that slickedit is now trying to get the DTDs for my .xul files but otherwise it's not treating them as XML. There's no completions, there's no syntax highlighting, nothing.

Also, how do I tell slickedit not to look for the DTDs? I tried UN-checking "Auto Validate on Open" but it still looking for the DTDs.

Did you close and reopen the files?
SE doesn't update the mode of a file automatically, so you'll need to close/reopen (or manually change the mode).
