This is the same problem as that described for more recent SlickEdit versions in http://community.slickedit.com/index.php?topic=2040.msg8549.


The "delete/comment out cache entries" approach doesn't work, as it causes problems elsewhere.

Please help.

Did you try the foreground search?  - see the checkbox in the find in files dialog.

Did you try outputting to an editor window instead of the search results toolbar?

If that doesn't work, you could also try temporarily replacing the fontconfig file (using a slick C macro) while you run the find in files, then restore it.

Graeme - thank you for the suggestions.  The "foreground search" and "output to editor window" recommendations appear to work for me.
