Problem with .rc file
« on: August 04, 2008, 03:04:46 PM »
WinXP sp 3, SlickEdit 13.0.1 h/f 17.

I opened a VisStudio project (.sln) in SlickEdit.  The project contains a .rc file.  How do I open that file for editing in SlickEdit?  If I double-click on it in the Projects tb. a new instance of VisStudio is launched; same thing if I use 'Open' on the right-button menu.

Ah -- I can open it for editing from the Files tb.  Why not from the Projects tb?
Is this an option that can be set somewhere?
Thanks for any insight....

Do you have rc mapped to an Open Application in the File Extension manager or have the Use file association option enabled?  The Projects tool window uses those options to determine whether to open them in the editor or through an external application.

Thanks for the quick reply.  'Use file association' was checked for .rc files.  I unchecked that and now have the behavior I expected.
