Beautify and Broken Lines Indentation
« on: September 07, 2006, 09:10:39 am »

Is it possible to have broken lines of code indented properly, without a fixed Index?
( I use v9.0)

Code: [Select]
TRACE << "Hello"
<< "World"
<< endl;

after Beautification, should be indented as:

Code: [Select]
TRACE << "Hello"
      << "World"
      << endl;

Where the strings are aligned on the same column that the starting element ends.

I saw that it's possible to configure "Continuation Indent" under the "Beautify" menu option, that accepts a fixed index.
however, this is not suitable for different objects, other than "TRACE" (which is of width=5).
An Element name like "getErrorStream()" would not have its "children" indented correctly.

Perhaps some "number of smart-tabs" option would be useful, instead of a fixed number of regular "spaces".

Or am I missing a feature?
