I need help understanding when project commands are run
« on: September 07, 2006, 09:37:48 pm »
I am having trouble getting a project specific command to setup my environment.  Take for example doing a "build" ..

I have figured out how to get the correct build shell to run (redefine "def_linux1_shell" to be /bin/sh -i") but I cannot get commands injected into that shell.  Instead commands entered in the Project Properties "Open" and "Build" tabs act as though the build shell runs them within a subshell.

For example, if I add to the "Build" tab a command such as:
  export PROMPT_COMMAND=""

Then I see that command get injected in the "Build" window when I do a "build" command and yet it has no effect.

Similarly if I:
  source /some/file.sh

I likewise see that command get injected but any environment variables that it sets up are not present in the build shell.

OTOH if I just go to the build shell and by hand enter the above then indeed they do work as expected.

How can I accomplish what I'm looking to do?  I'd esp. like to do this in the "Open" tab so that it affects all project settings (rather than just build).

Using SlickEdit 11.0.1 under linux.
