How to keep ftp connection alive?
« on: September 09, 2006, 06:21:23 am »
hi, all,
I am using SlickEdit to edit files on a unix server (by sftp).
Usually, when I finish editing and want to save files and upload them, a warning message pops up, saying 'time out'. I have to press 'connect' again in order to upload modified files.
So, is there some options in SlickEdit to keep ftp connection alive, just like many ftp clients (flashfxp, cuteftp, etc).
Thanks!

Bring up the "Connect" dialog, where you add new servers, and click the "Default Options..." button.  This will bring up the "FTP Options" dialog.  Select the "Advanced" tab and make sure you check "Keep Alive".  Seems to work like a charm for me.
