SE not saving Option Settings.
« on: December 03, 2008, 08:27:16 pm »
I have the following setup:
Comp: MacBook C2D/2.4GHz
O.S.:   10.5.5
X11 :  Xquartz 2.1.5 - (xorg-server 1.3.0-apple22) (2.1.5)
SE:     13.0.2.0

For some reason, none of changes I make in Tools>Options stick.  They work until I quit SE and then everything goes back to default.

Note that I turned off file locking because of an issue SE was having with my Samba share but the settings did not stick before then either.  Actually, now that I think about EVERYTHING reverts to default when I close SE.

SE also does not remember the window state of the projects that I have saved on Samba.  In fact, it does not even remember that they exist even when I have the share mounted before I launch SE.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you don't have write persmissions to the SlickEdit config directory. For reliability and performance, make sure that your config directory is stored locally and not on a network drive. You can locate your config directory by selecting Help > About SlickEdit. You can change your config directory location using the -sc option. There's plenty of info on that in the User Guide.
