Korn Shell Syntax Highlighting
« on: April 23, 2009, 12:22:27 pm »
Hi,
I am new to slickedit. How do I do syntax highlighting for korn shell scripts. Is there a module or something similar to uedit tag file which I need to download and install.

If I change the name of the file from
myscript.ksh to
myscript.sh

The syntax highlighting works great.
How do I associate files with extensions of ksh to be the same as sh.

ok found it in language options. Have set it the same as bourne shell which should work well enough.
Apologize for the multiple posts. I tried searching for ksh and korn. Should have just typed in shellor bourne.

Now THAT I can answer.

Well, sort of.  If you go to Options - Languages - (Your language) - General.  There is a button for editing associated extensions.  Use that to add ksh to the list of associated extensions and Slick will handle those files the same as the other files.

On the other hand, I did not find the .sh extension predefined.  But the C Shell and the Bourne Shell are predefined.  If the Korn shell is similar to one of them, that would be the place to make the association.

Best,
Jim.

Are there plans for _full_ ksh support any time in the future?

No plans for that at this time. I'd like to hear from others who'd like this.
