Consistancy: Can you make ESC close Smart Open?
« on: July 30, 2009, 08:50:49 pm »
Most dialogs throughout Windows and slickedit I can dismiss by pressing ESC.  I bring up the search dialog by accident, I press ESC it goes away.

But, when I bring up the Smart Open dialog, pressing ESC does not get rid of it.

I suppose the reason is smart open is a panel although I pulled it out of the panel. In the panel it is too thin to be useful since I can't see the paths.  Out of the panel thought it doesn't behave like a dialog.

Suggestion:
How about, if a panel is undocked then pressing ESC closes the panel?

View>Toolbars, Toolbars tab
Select 'Open" tool window
Select 'ESC dismisses floating window'

I was curious, so I tried a default configuration, and that checkbox is checked by default for the Open tool window.

Yep.  But upgrading from an existing installation didn't set the "ESC dismisses..." flag.
I recently went through and set it for a bunch of toolbars, myself.
