I don't recall that specific error message but I also don't recall the 'New Updates' menu function ever returning anything but 'update not found' or something similar.

As part of the transition to the new website infrastructure a week ago, we're currently working on a few lingering bugs, this is one of them.   The current version of SlickEdit is 14.0.2.2, you can view your current version by manually comparing the version from the "Help > About SlickEdit" dialog.

If your version is lower, downloads are available on your registered products page.

BTW, the check for new updates, does not do a check for hotfixes.    Hotfixes are available at https://customer.slickedit.com/support/hot-fixes/hot-fixes-for-slickeditr-2009-v1402.

Getting the same problem here with 14.0.2.2. I've tried putting in some explicit proxy settings in the Options area of SlickEdit, as well as checking the "Use Internet Explorer settings" and setting the proxy data in IE, but to no avail.

Are the hotfixes for 14.0.2 also applicable for 14.0.2.2?  If so, you might want to make that clearer, as it wasn't immediately obvious to me -- I thought that because the hotfix referenced 14.0.2, it was included in 14.0.2.2 and therefore didn't need to be installed.

Jeffrey, is the 14.0.2 hotfix also intended for 14.0.2.2 or not?

Yes, it is. Sorry for the confusion. We're updating the site so it is more clear. And we'll be more careful with the version numbers to avoid such confusion in the future.  Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Sorry to post in such an old topic but this problem has reappeared with v16.0.0.6 with hotfix release 3, both 32 and 64-bit versions.

Yup same here, the 2009 reported error message on the PC version.

The Max version (OSX 10.6.6) crashes with a Slick-C stack error.

Cheers,
Mark
